Tolerance

It is quite sad that in today's society there is still not tolerance for people that are perceived as 'different'. I have a m2f friend who, still, in this day and age gets harassed for being different. Even while walking home in a decent suburb of Hobart with her young son, both she and he are harassed, yelled at, sworn at and abused each step of the way. How the fuck does this still happen? What makes somebody think they are so much better than others because they perceive themselves as 'normal'. What the fuck is 'normal'?

Not only is this something she has to deal with almost every day; now the Hobart Housing Department have deemed that she be evicted from her housing unit, all because she took in a young woman off the streets and tried to help her get her life back on track by treating her like a daughter. This young woman has gone and forgot all the good things my friend has done for her, gone on a complete drug and alcohol bender and is now abusing this person who gave her every thing she had and more.

I just don't understand that people can still be so harsh and uncaring to others. We are all people. There is no 'normal'. If we were all the fucking same it would be an even more fucked up world. Difference in people is what makes us special. Stop hating. Start loving. Live your life and stop judging others.

Rant over.
